An exquisite early 18th-century George I feather and cross-banded burl walnut chest-on-chest secretary features an upper section adorned with a graceful concave molded cornice above three short drawers and three long graduated drawers. These drawers are flanked by elegantly fluted, chamfered corners and delicate original brass fittings.

The lower section is fitted with a hinged fall enclosing a pull-out secretary complete with six small drawers, approximately six pigeon holes, and an inset suede writing panel for comfortable use. This section is followed by three graduated drawers and elevated on sturdy bracket feet. The entire piece retains its rich patina and refined proportion.
